St. George Wedding Chapel Paphos
St George Chapel in Paphos is one of the most beautiful venues in Cyprus.
It boasts a stunning interior of frescoes and offers fantastic views overlooking
the Mediterranean. It was originally built as an orthodox Chapel but the
church of Cyprus kindly gave permission for Anglican or Catholic ceremonies
to be performed here by the relevant church officials from the UK.
It is approximately a 15 minute drive from the centre of Paphos and built within
the grounds of the St George Hotel. The chapel is air conditioned and can seat
up to 22 guests although it has standing room for many more!
If you choose a chapel ceremony it should reflect your values and beliefs about
marriage as it is a religious ceremony and will be conducted accordingly.
Thanks to the décor of this beautiful chapel it offers fabulous photo and video
opportunities during the ceremony which are normally taken professionally or
personally (although we strongly advise professional photography due to the nature
of the day). Following the marriage there will be opportunities for more photos
and video outside the chapel where confetti throwing is welcome, before heading
back to the hotel or venue of choice.
Availability
Booking your Cyprus wedding at St George chapel in advance is essential
in order to avoid disappointment regarding availability. The busiest months for

Catholic ceremonies take place at the St George chapel on a Monday or Tuesday

are held in the afternoon, each day between 1pm and 5pm.

Something Else To Think About…
Why not add a special touch to your day by hiring your own professional
musician to play the keyboards for you at St George Chapel. There is a good choice
of classical and modern music to choose from. You can also hire a professional
musician in traditional Scottish dress to play the bagpipes. This can be booked
as a wonderful surprise for the bride or groom and creates a delightful atmosphere
and a special touch to any ceremony.
